PRIVACY-AWARE RIGHTS PROTECTION SYSTEMS: IDEAS FOR IMPROVING DRM
Antonius Cahya Prihandoko
Short Abstract. Digital Right Management (DRM) provides technological approaches to accomplish copyright protection of digital content. Due to immense changes in digital technologies the need for robust and effective DRM systems is increasingly urgent. The current DRM system has three major problems. Firstly, digital piracy causes significant reductions in industrial revenues. Secondly, fair use is problematic because content providers and users have conflicting interpretations of this concept. Finally, users’ privacy is often sacrificed when DRM is implemented.
